Five Top Trends for 2020 Bathrooms

Roman Bathrooms

The bathroom is an important room in the home, it has to be functional but increasingly homeowners also want to make a statement with the design.

Whilst it may often be the smallest room in the house, it can be a challenge knowing where to start to create your own unique space.

Take a look at our top tips for how to create an on-trend bathroom in 2020.

Be bold with tiles
Tiles are becoming increasingly bold, this could be contrasting colours, geometric shapes or opting for a bold large format.

Making tiles part of your design is one of the most cost effective ways of making a statement, this could be a feature band around the walls or a panel behind a basin. Opting for wall to floor tiling with large tiles can really open up a space, and with fewer grout lines these are an attractive option for showers and wet room style areas.

Add interest with fittings
Black, gold, copper, brushed, brass and nickel are all popular finishes that will still be on trend in 2020.  Selecting one of these finishes rather than stainless steel will add interest to the design, and you can mix and match with other accessories to hold the look together.

Keep it calm with shades of Grey
Grey has been such a hit throughout the home, it is now star of the show in the bathroom.  It can be a really soothing option when layered with different shades or paired with the right hues.

Keep it calm and serene by teaming with white-gloss pieces and classic fittings and fixtures.  Alternatively add splashes of colour to add extra contrast

Low profiles for a wet room experience
Modern manufacturing processes have resulted in thinner and thinner shower trays in recent years.  These have become a popular option, not only because they are so accessible for all the family but they also create a modern, minimalistic enclosure that provides a wet room experience.

Opting for a non-slip tray also enhances the safety whilst not detracting from the style.

Get smart with High Tech
Smart bathrooms are here to stay.  Showers led the way with digital shower valves and remote controls.  These products provide individual, temperature-perfect showering and bathing for the whole family.

Mirrors have followed with a wide range of options from Bluetooth speakers, infra-red sensors and built in mirror demisters. You can now enjoy a steam free mirror with integrated speakers that allows you to play music or listen to the radio from your smart phone or other Bluetooth device.

With crisp white LED framing and soft ambient lighting, these high tech mirrors will be a feature in many bathrooms in 2020.
