Grey is Here to Stay

Roman Bathrooms

We are loving the trend for all things grey in the home.  Grey is such a versatile colour, it can be calming and stylish or bold and contemporary depending on which shade and finish you choose.

Grey works well with white and this makes it a perfect partner for the bathroom. We like to experiment with different shades of grey, blending pale and darker shades to add interest and harmony.  Lighting is important in a grey bathroom so we incorporate lots of places for additional lights such as plinths, in recesses and around mirrors.

With painted furniture and more choice in bathroom worktops there are plenty of opportunities to introduce grey as a theme.  Be bold with dark grey furniture and blend with pale grey wall tiles for a sophisticated look.  Keep this simple with white and chrome for a clean and contemporary design.

Alternatively use grey as a backdrop in the decoration, as seen here with this elegant Toulouse bath from Victoria & Albert which demonstrates how well grey can work in a traditional bathroom. The ornate fireplace and bateau-style bath makes the bathroom feel traditional, whilst the grey tones of the tiles and accessories add a cool, contemporary touch. It shows how different shades of grey can be used in a subtle way in this classic design.

Or be bold and go for a beautiful anthracite Toulouse bath, also from Victoria & Albert that will make a statement in any bathroom.

Take a look in our bathroom gallery to see if you can find your perfect shade of grey or call in and see us soon.
