Traditional Bathrooms Back On Trend
Bathrooms have been contemporary for some time now but there is a growing trend for a more traditional and classic look, and not just for period properties.
People are experimenting with their bathroom design and likely to have both modern and classic elements to create a more individual look. This may be taking one statement piece such as a freestanding bath or chandelier as a centre piece or introducing materials such as painted wood for a stronger overall style.
There are some lovely wood grain finishes in period colours such as duck egg and sage that have timeless appeal but can be combined with less ornate accessories for an up-to-date theme.
Art Deco will also never date but instead of a whole bathroom done in this style we are seeing individual elements added for interest, such as the colour and style of tiling.
Brassware is available in a whole host of new finishes that are more subtle than the traditional gold finish that used to be a feature in this type of bathroom, rose and bronze for example.
This beautiful curved vanity unit is a great example, seen here with a modern silver band and period basin and lever taps. The decorative tiles add to the nostalgic charm but the complete look is fresh and innovative.
Elegant designs such as this will never date and can be tailored to suit all types of properties and bathrooms large or small.
